distribution
Breed breeding in the Poor Knights Islands in the north, the nonbreeding season northward from Minami Chishima to southern Alaska.
As one of the few traveling birds, it is observed in the north and the north of Chubu and near waters. Many observations are from August to October. In the revised 7th edition, Hokkaido, Aomori, Chiba (June 2004), Kanagawa (June 1984), records in Aichi are stated. On June 10, 1984, individuals protected at Kubocho, Nishi - ku, Yokohama City, died. From 19th to 21st June 2004, one Narashino city in Chiba prefecture was observed and photographed. On June 23, 2007, corpses were picked up in Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and specimens were kept at Kamakura City.
Characteristic
The total length is about 42 cm. Wing growth is 97 - 107 cm. From forehead to parietal, posterior neck, waist is dark brown and the back and the overnight cylinder are gray. On the upper surface of the wing there is a clear black brown M shaped pattern extending from the wing angle to three rows of wind cuts. The underside of the body from the throat is white. The tail has a long wedge shape similar to a similar species. The beak is grayish brown, and the feet are pale pink.
It is the same color in both sexes.
Ecology
Non breeding season lives in the ocean.
Eating habits are animal foods, which prey.
Breeding form is an egg.
